Hand Typed Letters
mailed anywhere in the world
NOTE: Free hand-typed letters are not available at this time.
Write your letter below and we will create a FREE hand-typed letter, embellish it with offerings of our own creation, and mail to anywhere with vintage stamps. We will never share any personal contact information with anyone. (see examples below this form) This is an ongoing art and communication project born out of a spirit of gift giving and community.
Type Bar has been typing letters for people for over a dozen years. We have created messages of greetings, joy, excitement, politics, thanks, sorrow, and more. We select the typewriter and enclosure art based on the subject of the letter. We have typewriters that span the decades from the 1920s to the 1980s and stamps from the 1940s to today.

Correspondence art comes from a long tradition of using the post office, and other delivery methods to create and share art. “Mail art (also known as postal art and correspondence art) is a populist artistic movement centered on sending small scale works through the postal service. It initially developed out of the Fluxus movement in the 1950s and 60s, though it has since developed into a global movement that continues to the present. The American artist Ray Johnson is considered to be the first mail artist, and the New York Correspondence School that he developed is considered the first self-conscious network of mail artists.” Read more at Wikipedia
Please join us in carrying on the tradition of postal art. Send a letter to anyone, anywhere, anytime. This creates a memorable impression and can be quite effective at conveying emotion or import. We love hand typed letters!
